I haven't read shit this week! so, lovingly, benevolently, with extreme terror building within me as I relieve the experience... a 夏五 post. crossposted for maximum damage. excuse the cropping. etc. i rearranged some of the poem and omitted other parts, but otherwise...yeah. crossposted because I don't check my tumblr and it was easier to format and arrange there than it was here.

some notes:
- I read parts of this poem in ash's rikkai post (yagyuu) and then I connected the dots and it hurt every step of the way. every line through. interestingly, the poem on it's own ... I'm not particularly fond of it, but twisted to this context (the lens of 夏五) it's very um...soul-consuming. killing. hurtful. terror-inducing. etc.
- there were a few lines I wanted to use different manga caps for but these were the most efficient, rather than... moving? and also made the most immediate sense in case the connection alluded you. I think overall it's pretty successful. seriously my heartsoulmindbrainblood is weeping. particularly the switches from 14. / 17. / 13. well...they are at the heart of it.... 'my six eyes tell me you're geto suguru. but my soul knows otherwise!' especially with like, the denotations/concepts of the 'soul' laid out in the manga ... that line is really, really crushing. I'm not sure I have the brain power to explain it in any meaningful way, but. well hopefully the poem did.
- I'll probably do a few more 夏五 compilation posts because what's a better way to spend free time than in Anguish and Mortal Toil, et cetra, et cetra.
